Top Travel and Local Apps Performance in Europe Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the top travel and local apps in Europe demonstrated varying trends in downloads and active user metrics, as revealed by Sensor Tower data.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at around 420K and seeing a peak of 442K in the final week of December. The app's active users showed a decline mid-quarter, dropping from 25.8M to 22.1M, but rebounded to 27.7M by the end of the period.

Airbnb began the quarter with 367K downloads, experiencing a dip to 273K mid-quarter, and rebounding to 387K by the end. Its active user base followed a similar pattern, starting at 12.5M, declining to 9.9M, and rising again to 13.3M.

Yandex Navigator saw a peak in revenue early in the quarter, reaching about $16.8K in late October. Downloads remained relatively stable, beginning at 172K and ending at 146K. Active users demonstrated consistency around the 22M mark, with minor fluctuations.

Instabridge: WiFi Hotspot Map showed a varied trend in downloads, starting at 139K, dipping to 84K, and climbing to 152K by late December. Revenue was modest, with a peak at $460 in early November. Active users saw a slight decrease from 454K to 348K.

Google Earth maintained steady download numbers, averaging around 200K weekly, with an increase to 230K during the holiday season. Active users decreased from 4.6M to 3.9M, before rising to 4.3M at quarter's end.
